PBS has a new site for The Best of Masterpiece Theatre which features Damian Lewis. The executive producer of the program has some nice things to say of Damian:

“…Damian Lewis was another great interview. People know him best as Soames in The Forsyte Saga. Soames is a very stiff, determined, harsh and rather insular character. But Damian Lewis is a lovely man. He had just had a new baby come into his life a few weeks earlier — and he had that new father glow. Damian has a new series coming up next season on NBC…”

The program will broadcast on most PBS stations around March 4th – check your local listings!

According to an article in Variety the title of the pilot Damian is starring in has changed from Life to Set for Life. The pilot is scheduled to film in LA through March 12.
The Manchester Evening News has a new article on Confessions Of A Diary Secretary (no mention of Damian’s cameo).
There’s a racy new music video posted by MicOrMik at Youtube featuring Damian in scenes from Keane. Scenes used include one where Damian’s character is snorting coke and one where he’s having anonymous sex in disco bathroom!

The February 24, 2007 issue of Radio Times includes a story about “TV’s Top 10 Versatile Actors”; thanks to Hazel for sharing their comments about Damian Lewis:

“The flame haired old Etonian might seem ready made for parts as splendid chaps with stiff upper lips and, indeed he has appeared in uniform several times, but on every occasion he’s confounded the stereotype. After a spot as a soldier in Warriors he was cast by Steven Spielberg as Major Richard Winters in Band of Brothers and he carried the piece. He then turned antihero, fronting the remake of the Forsyte Sage as the dastardly Soames, before segueing straight into a satirical Jeffrey Archer. Since then he’s escaped from Colditz, played Tony Blair, guest hosted Have I got News for You and done both Poliakoff and Shakespeare”.

Thanks to Ann for sharing the link to ITV’s page (and video clip) for Confessions of a Diary Secretary (Damian’s portrayal of Prime Minister Tony Blair is not included in the clip) and also the Radio Times listing for the UK broadcast on February 28th.
This article about Dr. William Schimmel – a musician who performs on the soundtrack for The Baker – states that the film is “due for release in May”. [KathyV]
