Update for The Escapist:

» The official web site for the film is now online and includes a sample of music from the soundtrack.

» Chris Knight of the National Post predicts that The Escapist will be one of the hits of the Sundance Film Festival.

» This Variety article indicates that Rupert Wyatt (writer and director for The Escapist and Damian Lewis’s Picture Farm business partner) has already obtained backing from Vertigo Films for his next feature film The Trail which will be shot on location in New Mexico in the spring.

» Rupert Wyatt gave a very interesting interview about The Escapist to IonCinema that included this comment about Damian:

“Damian Lewis is a partner in Picture Farm but although that might infer he was a definite, that certainly wasn’t the case. He’s an extraordinary actor and is already a major force to be reckoned and as such he’s very careful about the roles he’s takes on. Fortunately he felt it would be a good crack to play the Prison’s ‘Daddy’ villain – RIZZA.”

» The world premiere for The Escapist will take place at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on January 21st and Damian Lewis is expected to attend.
Two audioclips of Damian Lewis’s voice have long been available for listening on the Markham & Froggatt site (his UK agents) but these clips are now also offered for download in MP3 format. One of the clips offers an automobile advertisement and a public service announcement and the other clip is a narration for a program about medical errors.
