Congratulations to Director Rupert Wyatt! Variety reports that Damian Lewis’s Picture Farm partner and the director for The Escapist has agreed to create 3 new films. After “The Trail” for Vertigo he will adapt Samuel Logan’s book “This Is for the Mara Salvatrucha” for Paramount Vantage and then he will direct “Slipping Into Darkness” for Warner; click here to read more about it.

Information published on IMDb indicates that The Escapist will be released in The Netherlands on February 5, 2009. The film is scheduled for release in the UK on June 20th and will open in US cinemas in October.
