Thanks to aliceshelton for posting the latest “Olympic-theme” NBC promo clip for season 2 of Life on YouTube.

Good quality versions of two of the earlier season 2 promo clips are available at Hulu.com: Life Returns and Fascinating Detective.
Actress Christina Hendricks who plays the recurring character of “Olivia” on Life will make a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, Live! on Wednesday, September 3rd at 12.05 am (ET) on the US ABC channel.
Lodge Kerrigan’s Keane starring Damian Lewis aired tonight in the US on The Sundance Channel and will rebroadcast on Wednesday, August 27th at 10 pm (ET). Tony Lucia of the Reading Eagle had this to say about the film:

“Lodge Kerrigan’s “Keane” (2004; 7 p.m. tonight and 10 p.m. Wednesday) provides a showcase for actor Damian Lewis, probably better known for his work on TV, as a homeless and obviously disturbed individual who may or may not have lost his daughter. Oscar nominees Amy Ryan and Abigail Breslin also star in Kerrigan’s astonishing drama.”

More spoilers! The storyline for Life episode 2.01 “Find Your Happy Place” is given below:

John Armstrong, a man whose job is to bring greeting cards and wedding announcements at a stationary store, is suspected of murdering people by putting people in trunks and letting them suffocate. An ice cream truck driver sells more than ice cream from his truck.
There will be a special screening for the debut of season 2 of Life on September 15th during “premiere week” at the New York Television Festival. According to the New York Observer premiere week will be “upfronts for fans” with actors and producers participating in “Question and Answer” sessions, red carpet events, and more!
IMDb release date information indicates that The Escapist with Damian Lewis will open in Belgium on January 21, 2009 and in The Netherlands on February 5, 2009. The region 2 DVD will be released in the UK on October 13, 2008.

“…Lewis is powerful and commanding as Charlie Crews; he brings an intensity to the screen that portrays a man divided. Charlie is driven by a thirst to discover ‘why’; but he also attempts to follow the teachings of Zen, which tells him to let go. He’s an outdated man who’s been unable to keep up with developments in the world and has emerged into an almost alien world filled with high tech computers and mobile phones. He has been compared to House and Monk in some reviews as there are echos of that style of character in him, but he’s not a clone of them…I for one will be looking forward to the premiere of the second season…”

“….Just a few reasons why I love Life:
1. Very intelligently written – snarky remarks and all.
2. Characters are easy to relate to and empathize with.
3. Damian Lewis. Duh. If I didn’t know he was an actor, I would think he honestly was this character.
4. Compelling (and note – ORIGINAL) plot that doesn’t over-do it.

An Emmy magazine interview with actor Hugh Laurie indicates that Damian Lewis was one of the actors under consideration for the role of Dr. House before the part was won by Laurie.

On September 15th the New York Television Festival will host a free, “sneak peek” fan screening for season 2 of Life starring Damian Lewis!

According to Variety the television networks will use “premiere week” to gauge audience response to new and returning shows.

Network premiere event (Premium or Festival passes only)
On Monday, September 15th, the NYTVF offers a special sneak-peek fan screening of the premiere episode of the sophomore police drama, “Life.” Tickets to this event are free and open to the public. “The second season of “Life” premieres Monday, September 29th on NBC before moving to its new timeslot on Fridays at 10 PM ET.

“Life,” from Rand Ravich (“The Astronaut’s Wife”) and Far Shariat (“Confessions of a Dangerous Mind”), focuses on a detective who is given a second chance. Golden Globe nominee Damian Lewis (“Band of Brothers”) plays complex, offbeat Detective Charlie Crews, who returns to the force after serving time in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Crews’ new lease on life has provided him with a Zen-like outlook, peace of mind and no need for vengeance, an attitude which can be challenging to maintain when someone he cares about is threatened — or when he is investigating the mystery surrounding the murder he was falsely accused of.

Lewis is joined by cast members Sarah Shahi (“Rush Hour 3″) as Dani Reese, Charlie’s skeptical and demanding partner; Brent Sexton (HBO’s “Deadwood”) as Officer Bobby Stark; Donal Logue (“Grounded for Life)” as Captain Kevin Tidwell, and Adam Arkin (“Chicago Hope”) as Crew’s former cellmate Ted Earley. “Life” is a Universal Media Studios production. “Frankly, it’s surprising that Life was even renewed for a new season. But now that the show is relegated to Friday night at 10, it’ll be even more surprising if it lives to see the end of the second season.”
