The Tufnell Stumble – Nov 22, 2017

The Tufnell Stumble

by Gingersnap – damian-lewis.com – November 22, 2017

Here’s an early Christmas present for all Damian Lewis fandom to enjoy! Today Future & Found tweeted that Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory will be at the fourth annual Tufnell Stumble, an event to kick-off Christmas shopping by celebrating independent shops and local businesses of Tufnell Park and to support the efforts of those working hard to bring unique quality of handmade items.  Damian and Helen are residents of Tufnell Park and whether local celebrities or not, they are involved in their community. In fact, Damian will be cutting the ribbon at Diverse, a womenswear shop located at 148 Fortess Road.

The ‘drinks and discounts’ occasion will be like a Pub Crawl for shoppers! Pass the mead as they say! The event, organized by Future & Found and Harrington & Squires, will take place Thursday, November 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  For more information, visit the virtual map or their Facebook event page and be sure to check back here for any additional news. Will you be at the ribbon cutting? Then tag your social media posts with #TufnellStumble for a chance to have your photo from the event featured on our website.

Following sold-out productions at London’s National Theatre and then on the West End, Denise Gough has reprised her Olivier Award–winning role as Emma alongside much of the original cast.

All were on hand at the elegant post-curtain dinner, hosted by Vogue’s Anna Wintour. There, underneath the theater-style lights in the auditorium, Damian Lewis warmed up the room with a little-known anecdote from when he first began dating now-wife Helen McCrory in 2005. At the time, McCrory was playing the part of Rosalind in the West End production of As You Like It. Lewis recounted a conversation he had with McCrory: “She said, ‘If there’s any justice in this world, the girl who is understudying me is going to be a fucking star,’” Lewis recalled. “‘She’s brilliant.’” As fate would have it, the understudy was Gough.
