No Baby Blues for Helen
COMELY Helen McCrory will be throwing out the blue wallpaper after giving birth to a baby girl at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. The actress - brilliant as Cherie Blair in Steven Frears’ cheeky royal drama The Queen - had been expecting a boy and even joked to friends about nicknaming her bump ‘Boris’.
But McCrory and her fiancE, The Forsyte Saga star Damian Lewis, are said to be ‘delighted’ at the new arrival, named Manon and delivered by Caesarean section on Friday. A second shock came when they saw the colour of the baby’s hair.
Says a friend: ‘She’s not ginger, unlike Damian, who’s very proud of his copper-coloured locks and even calls himself the ginga ninja.’ The couple plan to marry in Wales next summer, after McCrory, 37, announced she’d rather be ’skinny and drunk’ than ‘fat and sober’ on her big day.
