Liverpool face Real Madrid in the 2018 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, May 26 at NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine as the club football season draws to a close. The two European heavyweights last met in UEFA’s showpiece event in 1981, at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Five-time winners Liverpool will be aiming to repeat that triumph! Here is a little MOM “We’ve got Salah” Reds chant by Damian himself as he heads to the title match:
Axe: Killing Yourself to Live?
by Lady Trader | Fan Fun with Damian Lewis | May 25, 2018
So you think it’s me who’s strange
But you’ve never had to make the change
Never give your trust away
You’ll end up paying till your dying day
Killing Yourself to Live – Black Sabbath
Is that what Axe is doing? Is he putting himself (and possibly others) in such a dangerous position, just so he can still be Bobby “Fucking” Axelrod? And in the end, will it be worth it? Is he Killing Himself to Live?
Happy Friday from the Trader’s Desk. Please indulge me this week, as I won’t be doing a usual recap, but more of my observations on the state of things at Axe Capital, and the possible consequences.
This week’s episode, “Icebreaker” was many things, but first and foremost for me, the word intense comes to mind. There was also an overtone of doom (at least in my opinion). Two main characters, Axe and Taylor, are putting themselves in precarious positions, although one is much more dangerous than the other.

NPR’s All Songs Considered, Music Pods, Sound Opinions, Spotify Discover Weekly and Twitter Solicitation Beacons: Discovering Music for Billions
by Caitlin White | Uproxx | May 24, 2018
Last fall over the holidays I was desperately trying to avoid reality. Looking for an escape, I turned to a popular TV show called Billions because I’d noticed one of my favorite Uproxx TV writers, Brian Grubb, writing a love letter to it earlier in the year. It looked just far enough away from my own life to distract from the stupid minutia of what was bothering me, the characters were strong, powerful, and self-assured — but they were also caught up in tough situations, unfair portrayals, and pesky mistakes.
The plot was thick and moved with deftness, there was not one but two strong, badass female characters, there was a subplot involving a nonbinary character working in the midst of the boys club, and the whole thing swung on an unholy rivalry that was a thrill to watch. This all made for great, addictive TV, but as a music editor, what stopped me in my tracks was the soundtrack. Unexpectedly, I found old folk and indie rock favorites like Andrew Bird cropping up alongside a guest appearance from the rock gods themselves, Metallica!

It didn’t take long for Damian to get back into the swing of it as he played the BMW PGA Celebrity Pro-AM golf competition at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, United Kingdom today, Wednesday, May 23. Teeing off at 1:15 pm, Damian returned to the West Course with golf professional “The Great Dane” Thomas Bjorn, along with lead singer and guitarist for the British pop/rock band The Vamps, Bradley Simpson and Italian-British actor Luke Pasqualino.
Damian received some useful golfing tips from Sky Sports presenter Nick Dougherty before he teed off. Dougherty analyzed his swing as he took his driver out on the range and suggested a few improvements before he headed to the course. You can watch that video here if it’s authorized in your viewing area. And guess who made SkySports FanVan? You can see Damian in this video at 2:46 in.
