The Redhead Club

by Gingersnap | damian-lewis.com | November 5, 2018

Happy National Love Your Red Hair Day! Who comes to mind when you think of red hair? Lucille Ball? Prince Harry? Jessica Chastain? Not around here! We can think of no one else but Damian Lewis when it comes to red hair. Damian is one of the most recognizable redheads in the entertainment business, and he’s proud of it! Even James Corden, host of The Late Late Show, agrees that Damian is one of the world’s most famous redheads at 2:23 in:

We fans celebrate Damian everyday, but it’s also special to celebrate one of his most identifiable traits, that flaming red hair, with the rest of the world today! BAFTA LA didn’t miss out on the fun today either, tweeting this to Damian:

And the celebratory tweets didn’t stop there!

As The Independent explains, from fiery copper to strawberry blonde and deep burgundy, whatever your shade, today is a day for redheads to celebrate their tresses. And by red hair, we mean TRUE red hair, right Damian? No fake redheads allowed!

National Love Your Red Hair Day is celebrated every year on November 5 in the U.S. and May 19 in the UK. The day is also celebrated in the Netherlands on the first weekend of September in the city of Breda. Called Roodharigendag, the two-day festival, which inaugurated in 2005, is attended by thousands of people with natural red hair. No matter where you are in the world, there is a day dedicated to celebrating the beauty of ginger locks.

The Lewis Brothers At It Again?

by Gingersnap | damian-lewis.com | March 23, 2018

In an article published in The Astana Times, scriptwriter, producer and director Aidiye Aidarbekov stated, “I wrote the script for the Flags Over Berlin film produced by Dauren Toleukhanov. British filmmaker Gareth Lewis and actor Damian Lewis will join the project.”

Research indicates the film will be directed by Damian’s brother, who is a writer, producer and director. The film The Baker (2007), also known as Assassin in Love, starring Damian himself, was written and directed by Damian’s talented brother and business partner Gareth Lewis, a joint project produced under their production company at the time, Picture Farm, Ltd., along with partner Adrian Sturges. At the world premiere of The Baker at Canada’s Tremblant Film Festival, Gareth was named Best Director. Damian and Adrian Sturges also produced the Gareth Lewis written and directed short film Normal for Norfolk featuring the one and only Helen McCrory. It’s all in the family!

So what is Flags Over Berlin?

The Money Run: A CrowdFund Campaign – July 4, 2017

The Money Run

A $20 million helicopter heist in the middle of the Vietnam War. What could possibly go wrong?

Damian’s brother, Gareth Lewis, a screenwriter, director and producer living in London, is developing a screenplay in order to bring this remarkable story to the screen the way it should be.  Flare Pictures, Gareth’s small independent production company in London, is:

raising money early on to create a script in hopes  it will not only attract a stellar cast, but also remain true to the source material and the men who fought in Vietnam.

Damian and his brother last teamed up for The Baker, also known as Assassin in Love and we all know how great the collaboration turned out!   The brothers will collaborate again on The Money Run.  Once the project is greenlit, Gareth will direct and  Damian will star in it. Damian tweeted in support of his brother:

This is your chance to get in on the ground floor for an unforgettable ride.  For more information on how to lend your support for The Money Run, visit Indiegogo.

Creativity is a strange beast. At its narrowest definition, it is the skill of creating something original and new using nothing but one’s imagination. But that would exclude a lot of us from the act of creativity, wouldn’t it? How many of us are capable of conjuring up some idea, art, or thing completely from scratch? An impossible task, even for the creative geniuses among us. Nothing is truly original. It’s all about processing what has come before and presenting it in new and “creative” ways. “Creative problem solver” is one of those phrases you see on resumes a lot. Try telling a mathematician or a software engineer that what they do doesn’t involve creativity and you’re bound to get an earful in exacting detail of just how wrong you are. Thus, not an easy thing to get a handle on, creativity.
