Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)’s documentary programs get underway and will feature 23 docs from 18 countries. The festival runs from September 4-14, 2025, celebrating the best of Canadian and global cinema.
Making its North American debut at TIFF is Raoul Peck’s Orwell: 2+2=5, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. About the author of 1984 and Animal Farm, Oscar-nominated Peck interweaves historical clips, readings from Orwell’s diary, cinematic references, and modern-day footage to craft Orwell: 2+2=5. The film features Damian Lewis as the voice of Orwell.
Orwell: 2+2=5 will showcase at TIFF on September 4, and September 8-9, 2025.
Orwell: 2+2=5 will be in select US theaters October 3, 2025.
