Damian Lewis and Alison Mosshart Attended Shadowlands Play

– Class Act on the West End –

Damian and Alison took in the show Shadowlands this past weekend in London, just in time before it’s run ended. The play ran from February 5 – May 9, 2026 at the renowned Aldwych Theatre on the West End and starred Hugh Bonneville and Damian’s Billions co-star Maggie Siff.

Shadowlands is written by William Nicholson and based on the late-life romance and true story between celebrated author C.S. Lewis and the spirited American poet Joy Gresham Davidman, whose unexpected love transforms the orderly academic life of Lewis.

The play explores how their unexpected love challenges Lewis’s intellectual, faith-based worldview, forcing him to confront the realities of love, loss, and suffering, and ultimately transforming his relationship with God. What begins as a meeting of minds becomes an uplifting and powerful journey of love and the fragile beauty of life.

Damian indicated it was a magical evening of exquisite performances of a beautifully constructed play and stated, “…a central thesis that God makes us suffer in order to love.”
