BFBS goes behind the scenes of Pressure, the new film which tells the remarkable true story of the meteorologists whose weather forecasts played a crucial role in the lead-up to the D-Day landings.
Veteran and BFBS Social Media Manager Karl Lambert sits down with the actors Andrew Scott and Damian Lewis, writer David Haig and director Anthony Maras to find out what went into making the film – and how a small team of meteorologists faced enormous pressure to predict the weather conditions that would ultimately help determine when the Allied invasion could begin.
From the challenges of forecasting in wartime to the crucial weather window that made D-Day possible, the film shines a light on a fascinating and often overlooked part of military history.
Actor Damian Lewis tells BFBS’ Karl Lambert how he took to the role playing Bernard ‘Monty’ Montgomery in upcoming movie Pressure – and how it compared to his role in Band of Brothers some 25 years ago.
Pressure arrives in UK cinemas on September 9, 2026.
