  • Visit the Warehouse for more pictures of Damian Lewis and his adorable son Gulliver participating in the “Prostate Cancer Charity London Tour” on September 19, 2009. 😀

  • Deborah Ground Buckner’s review for the “Kansas International Film Festival” screening of The Baker includes these comments:

Each village character manages to stand out from the ensemble, becoming clearly definable and engaging. Audiences will be pulling for Milo (Damian Lewis) and his belief that “Everyone deserves a second chance.” Beautiful scenes of the countryside (juxtaposed against the impact of Eggs and his explosives) and charming storefronts create an enchanting world. Michael Gambon is great fun as the seen-it-all done-it-all Leo, Kate Ashfield provides a lovely, spirited love interest, and the mysterious relationship between Milo and Bjorn is fun to watch as it unfolds.

The Baker received the Best Feature Film award at the RiverRun International Film Festival (2008), the Audience Favorite Award at the Connecticut Film Festival (2009), and the Gold Remi Award for Editing and the Special Jury Remi Award for a Theatrical Feature Film, at Worldfest Houston (2009).

  • Many thanks to Russ Chapple for kindly sharing this wonderful photo of Damian Lewis taken at the London Zoo on August 15, 2009. To view the full-size photo go to Russ Chapple’s Photostream on Flickr or visit this site’s Warehouse Gallery. Russ’s description of the encounter is given below:

One of my proudest photographs to date. Not for its technical mastery but for the fact I found the courage to approach him and request a picture! The scene was London Zoo last Saturday, the setting was Damian Lewis and his wife standing outside the ‘Amazing Animals’ show. After recognising him I pondered and deliberated for a minute before plucking up the courage and talking to him. He was really nice.

  • Damian Lewis will be taking part in the The Prostate Cancer Charity London Ride on September 19th. From the RoadCyclingUK site:

Lewis is urging people to join him and ride with their heroes as the charity’s new cycling event hits the capital. Lewis said: “I would encourage everyone to take part in the London Ride. The best thing about it is that the roads will be closed and there will not be any cars around. What a brilliant way to see the sights of London; I will be bringing the whole family along to enjoy the carnival atmosphere. Anyone taking on this challenge will also be cycling to show their support for a great cause.

1,000 places are available on the charity ride; to learn more on how to register, visit Unite ByCycling. More information here.
