Well looked who showed up at Wembley đ Damian, his son Gulliver, and pals attended England v Denmark, the second of two semi-finals, at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. England beat Denmark 2-1 to seal a place in the final of the men’s European championships for the first time. Damian even sported his Soccer Aid shirt in solidarity with England.
With 60,000 fans inside Wembley, it took an extra-time winner from Harry Kane to secure a Three Lions victory. Now England has to focus on Italy.

Today, Sunday, 4 July 2021, Lord Mayor’s Appeal held the charitable Twenty20 cricket match on the grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company venue, with Damian’s brother William Russell serving as captain for his team, The Lord Mayor XI versus Damian serving as Captain for his team, The Bobby Axelrod XI. And it looks like Damian’s other brother Gareth Lewis played on the Bobby Axelrod XI team as well!
The winning team was The Bobby Axelrod XI, but really both teams win because the match was for charity! Leader of the Pack
by Gingersnap | damian-lewis.com | August 26, 2020
As Team Captain, Damian skippered a victory for the Actors Cricket Club against team rival The Authors on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Ascott Park Cricket Ground located at the Ascott Estate in Ascott, Buckinghamshire, England.
Damian championed a win by 14 runs despite 49 for the 9th wicket put on by Jon Hotten and Charlie Campbell. This is the second year in a row that Damian has led his team to victory.Â
Sponsored by Rathbones, the match was umpired by John Betts and scored by Laura Jeffrey. Stars of both screen and page participated in the match, including:
The Actors: Team Captain Damian Lewis, Gwyn Jones, Paul Lichtenstern, Peter Sandys-Clarke, Antony Jardine, Nathan Lee, Lachlan Nieboer, Geoff Streatfeild, Dan Tuite, Ben Willbond, and Alastair Whatley.
The Authors: Team Captain Charlie Campbell, Richard Beard, Matt Thacker, David Owen, Peter Frankopan, Chris Hemmings, Nick Campion, Nicholas Hogg, Tom Holland, Jon Hotten, and Anthony McGowan.
We hear it was a great match and lovely setting. Until next year!
It was the biggest cricket match of the summer today, August 22, 2019, as The Authors took on their oldest rivals, The Actors at Eton College.
Over the past eight seasons The Authors have played cricket teams of priests, publishers, soldiers, lawyers, bankers, tea planters and prison guards but they could not score a ‘W’ against their chief rivalry The Actors.
Damian’s team scored a victory today as The Authors lost to The Actors by 39 runs, ending a five year losing streak. Cheers to Damian’s team, The Actors!

The Familyâs Holiday House and Why Damian Isn’t Asked How He Juggles It All
by Julia Llewellyn Smith | The Times | August 12, 2019
Gosh, but having lunch with Helen McCrory is a daunting experience â a bit like sitting down with a more intelligent version of Princess Margaret or the seventh, undiscovered Mitford sister. Even though sheâs a dainty thing, McCrory has extraordinary presence, crackling with the energy that has suffused her stage performances at the National, the Donmar and the Almeida and that underscored film roles such as Harry Potterâs Narcissa Malfoy. It has also made her the star of TV dramas such as Penny Dreadful and Peaky Blinders, the long-running BBC period crime drama that weâre here to discuss.
The regal effect is further enhanced by the fact that, in the pleasant but unglamorous surroundings of the British Film Institute restaurant on a baking-hot day (âIâm starving,â she barks before ordering asparagus, followed by a cobb salad with truffle fries), McCrory is in a long, flowery dress and full make-up for that eveningâs London premiere of Peakyâs fifth season. âItâll look good when it gets dark. For now itâs like, âMy God, sheâs like Liz Taylor the wheelchair years,â â she drawls.
McCrory doesnât do traditional interviews, where she talks and I listen. Instead, she expects a conversation with topics ranging from how all young women today look identical (âOur generation had so many more styles to choose from. I really wanted to look like Debbie Harry â obviously quite a leap â then Siouxsie Sioux . . .â); to the recent resignation of the British ambassador to the US (McCroryâs father was a diplomat in countries such as Tanzania and Cameroon); to Peaky-related philosophical questions such as: âIs an act of goodness still good if you do it out of badness?â (She decides no.) It leaves me quite anxious that I havenât been stimulating enough company.

Damian the Husband: Organizing Road Trips, Planning Surprise Birthday Parties
by Gavanndra Hodge | The Telegraph | August 9, 2019
Sheâs straight-talking, hates housework, dresses to kill, and lives life her way â convention be damned. Turns out Helen McCrory has plenty in common with her badass Peaky Blinders character Polly.
Helen McCrory, the multiple-award winning actor, is holding what looks like a moist slice of turkey. âWhat is that?â I ask. âItâs a face mask, darling. ÂŁ1.99 from Superdrug,â she says, rubbing it against her neck. âItâs going to make me look like a teenager.â
There is a sort of rock-star swagger to Helen McCrory, 50, a charismatic, donât-give-a-damn cool with her chipped red nails and posh-voiced sweariness. She likes to party, to wear top hats and vintage frocks, and there is the inevitable doubling of glamour that comes from her marriage to the actor Damian Lewis (Brody from Homeland, more recently Bobby Axelrod in Billions), with whom she lives in a tall, narrow house in Tufnell Park with their children Manon, 12, and Gulliver, 11.
But what is most thrilling about McCrory is not the husky wit, the famous friends (âHave you seen Andrew [Scott] doing Present Laughter? Now that is how you do Cowardâ) or the fact that she ran an acid jazz club in Islington one summer in the early 1990s â it is her talent.
She brings a furious precision and intensity to the roles she takes: Medea and âLady Mâ on stage; on screen, Anna Karenina, Narcissa Malfoy, Cherie Blair and the gangster matriarch Aunt Polly in Peaky Blinders, the fifth season of which is soon to start on BBC One. Critics compete for the glowing adjectives when describing her performances â âsuperbâ, âmajesticâ, âsimply wonderfulâ. In 2017 she was awarded an OBE for services to drama.
It was a night full of Peaky Blinders! While we don’t have a photo of Damian and Helen pictured together, we can share a picture of Helen at the Peaky Blinders BFI TV Preview held at BFI Southbank on July 23, 2019 in London, England and a picture of Damian enjoying the Peaky Blinders season five after party.
But wait, there’s more!  According to Deadline, Helen’s Peaky Blinders will be trailered in movie theaters ahead of Damian’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which releases in the UK on August 14.
Peaky will return to UK television later this year, moving from BBC Two to BBC One.
