Damian Lewis Scheduled to Perform at CarFest 2024

Musical Acts Announced

by Benjamin Jackson | National World | April 12, 2024

The family-friendly festival CarFest, created by radio presenter and former Top Gear host Chris Evans, has announced a second wave of artists for this year’s event, complementing an already eclectic mix of acts performing over Bank Holiday Weekend 2024.

With the festival having already announced their first wave of acts, including Olly Murs (who also is headlining Flackstock this year), Eurovision favourite Sam Ryder and reggae legends UB40 comes a deluge of acts from those halcyon Cool Britannia days of old.

As revealed earlier this morning, Richard Ashcroft, Johnny Marr and the Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears will be performing at this year’s event, while a throwback to the past sees Kula Shaker performing on a festival stage once again – we weren’t joking about the Cool Britannia vibe.

They are also joined by legendary Ibiza DJ Judge Jules, Homeland actor Damian Lewis, Johnny Hates Jazz and CarFest’s favourite Dr Rangan Chatterjee will also be hitting the stage with his very own band

One Red Hot Summer For This Cool Cat

by Gingersnap | damian-lewis.com | April 6, 2024

Damian and his fantastic band are scheduled to play several summer festivals this year! More dates could be added but for now, here is the line-up.

Up first is Black Deer Festival of Americana at Eridge Park located on the Kent/East Sussex border near Tunbridge Wells on Saturday June 15. Damian will play the main stage ahead of headliner Sheryl Crow. Damian played a gig at last year’s festival and is a welcomed return. Black Deer is an award-winning UK festival in celebration of singer-songwriter music, such as Americana, Folk, Bluegrass, Roots and the Blues. Described as being dropped into a musical melting pot, you’ll find wholesome food and drink, artisan wares, boutique camping, a saloon bar, BBQ arena with smokehouse cooking and demos/masterclasses with renowned chefs, custom-built motorcycles, and the great outdoors. It will be a jamboree! Get ticket information here.

Next up is Pub in the Park at Chiswick House and Gardens in Chiswick ahead of musician Jools Holland on Sunday, June 30. Pub in the Park is billed as the ultimate crossover of food and music – one of the hottest foodie destination this summer. The festival has carefully curated a line-up of award-winning and Michelin-starred eateries and you’ll be able to hop between pop-up restaurants to feast on exclusive menus created by the nation’s best chefs and restaurants, all the while listening to brilliant live music. LIVE REVIEW: Damian Lewis at the Lighthouse, Poole

The Real Thing

by Cliff Moore | Bournemouth Daily Echo | March 26, 2024

ALTHOUGH Damian Lewis will be most familiar for his acting roles, he does have a burgeoning musical career which is slowly emerging into the light.

Here was the star of Band of Brothers, Wolf Hall, Homeland and Billions standing in front of a mic, acoustic guitar in hand (sometimes electric) and backed by a band of young but seasoned professionals.

Lewis the singer, so the story goes, harks back to a post-Eton, pre-stardom time when he busked around Europe. He carried on playing here and there, but acting took over.

VIDEO: Damian Lewis Sings “500 Miles” for Scottish Fans at Oxford Gig

The Proclaimers

by Gingersnap | damian-lewis.com | March 25, 2024

Damian spontaneously sang “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” for Scottish fans who travelled to Oxford to see him. Amongst the crowd at the show were a couple of women who had travelled down from Scotland to watch the performance. The pair made Damian aware of this after shouting during a break between songs and given their nationality and the distance they had travelled, the singer replied hilariously. He spontaneously started to sing the classic Scottish song I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers for the pair. The women as well as the rest of the crowd were left stunned, but then joined in with singing and clapping as Damian and his band put on quite the show.  When finished he told the crowd in his best Scottish accent, “That’s just so you wouldn’t come up here and bust my ball bags!” Watch snippet of video below:

LIVE REVIEW: Damian Lewis Live at The Subscription Rooms

A Sold-Out Show

by Hannah Compton | Building Our Own Nashville | March 24, 2024

It’s somewhat a night of community when Stroudies gather together for a night at The Sub Rooms. A relatively small town, having such a high calibre of artists means a great deal and people truly make the effort to be there. There will always be someone you know in the audience on whichever night you attend but tonight for Damian Lewis it felt even more of a community with many of Lewis’ local friends in the audience.

A sold out show from as soon as the tickets went on sale, The Sub Rooms in Stroud was buzzing with fans eager to hear his music live.
