Damian Lewis Was Guest Inspector in Whodunnit3 [Unrehearsed]

Polishing His Magnifying Glass

Surprise! Damian was one of the random guest Inspectors in the limited run mystery play Whodunnit3 [Unrehearsed] at Park Theatre London on April 28, 2024, where he tried to solve a crime live on stage with no rehearsal whatsoever. Audience members were also treated by Damian singing a special cover of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers, just like he did at his recent Oxford gig back in March.

This isn’t the first time Damian has been the guest Inspector. Read about his 2019 appearance here. The special fundraising event was to raise funds for the Park Theatre building and its community outreach programme. The play runs from March 27 – May 4. Get tickets now why you still can, here.

Following the sell-out success of their previous fundraising runs of the murder mystery spoof, Whodunnit, this next installment takes it all completely off the rails!

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend – or are they? As the temperature plummets, tensions rise and the bodies keep on falling. Can the illustrious Inspector keep this journey on track or will this be a bus replacement service for everyone? Murder, mayhem and this time… magnificent magic!

Every performance of Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 3  features the voice of Ian McKellen with a different celebrity in each performance stepping in as the Inspector without any  rehearsal and without ever having seen the script! And directed by Jez Bond.

The staggering line up of unsuspecting Inspectors included Amanda Abbington, Clive Anderson, Gillian Anderson, David Baddiel, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Christopher Biggins, Hugh Bonneville, Marcus Brigstocke, Asim Chaudhry, Michelle Collins, Nina Conti, Victoria Coren Mitchell, Les Dennis, Adrian Dunbar, Martin Freeman, Mark Gatiss, Tamsin Greig, Harry Hill, Adam Hills, Ross Kemp, Adrian Lester, Damian Lewis, Nigel Lindsay, Matt Lucas, Gareth Malone, Stephen Mangan, Tim McInnerny, Al Murray, Eddie Nestor, Dermot O’Leary, Sue Perkins, Clarke Peters, Griff Rhys Jones, Daisy Ridley, Rob Rinder, Tony Robinson, Anneka Rice, Katherine Ryan, Rhashan Stone, Meera Syal, Catherine Tate, Sandi Toksvig, Johnny Vegas, Tim Vine, David Walliams, Olivia Williams, Dara Ó Briain, Jodie Whittaker and Greg Wise – all of whom will have their lines fed to them live onstage via an earpiece as they attempt to crack the case and avoid a train wreck on the journey to justice.

There was no announcement which date each of the celebrity friends would be playing the Inspector – the mystery is who would arrive on the platform at the performance!

After the show audience goers could hear from the celebrity in a ‘behind the scenes’ conversation, when it’s was their turn to do the interrogation.
