Liverpool is one of the most successful clubs in the world and this is reflected by the millions across the globe who support the Reds every week. The extensive history of success in domestic and European football has not only captured the hearts of local supporters over the decades, but many famous faces too.
The club has formed a strong connection with fans worldwide, including fans of the club who you would may not expect to have such a close bond to the Reds. We have rounded up 18 famous Liverpool fans who you may not realise are supporters. Many of the celebrities have spoken out about their love for the club previously, others have been pictured cheering on the team at Anfield.
Damian Lewis
Actor Damian Lewis is a fan of the Reds, and was present in Kiev during Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final. His attention turned to Liverpool during his 1970s childhood when the club were leading the way in English football.

Daniel Craig
Born in Chester but raised on Merseyside, the James Bond actor is a big Liverpool fan. Speaking to Reds legend Jamie Carragher, Daniel detailed how he remembered his first Anfield experiences which are “seared into his brain”. The star said: “I was taken to the games from about I’d say five or six and I remember being in the Kop before it was seated and then sitting.”
Samuel L. Jackson
The Pulp Fiction star fell in love with Liverpool when he shot the 2002 film 51st State in the city, experiencing a game at Anfield for the first time and hasn’t stopped supporting the Reds since.
Angelina Jolie
Former wife of actor and musician, LFC fan, Billy Bob Thornton, Angelina has a link to the club through her son. Her son Maddox is a Liverpool fan and previously said he “only wants to play for Liverpool”. Maddox was gifted a Liverpool top by Gladiators star, Eunice Huthart.
Liam Neeson
The Northern Irish actor has spoken publicly about his support for the club on multiple occasions. The Taken star urged the club to extend Steven Gerrard’s contract when he was leaving the club in 2015.
Mike Myers
Hollywood legend Mike Myers known for roles including Wayne’s World and Austin Powers has previously described Liverpool as his “home”. The 61-year-old was born in Canada after his parents Eric and Alice Myers emigrated from Old Swan in 1956. Speaking in 2013, Mike said: “Our house was a shrine to Liverpool. I love the people here.”
LeBron James
Basketball legend LeBron James first visited Anfield in 2011. He has continued to support the club and paid tribute to Jurgen Klopp after his announcement that he will step down as manager last year. On X, the sportsman said: “THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING AND MORE!! You are one helluva manager and you’ll never be forgotten and more importantly, YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE!! The Reds will miss you!”
Chappell Roan
The singer uploaded a picture wearing a Liverpool top last year. The comment section came to life with fans speculating about her support for the Reds and others asking her to play Anfield.
Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt revealed his affection for the Reds during an interview about his film, Moneyball. Asked who his favourite football team was, he replied: “I have some friends who are very close to Liverpool, so if I went another way I might be disowned.”
Jason Isaacs
Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs, was born in Liverpool before moving to London. He once spoke of his delight after being invited to a kick-about with Liverpool legends Ian Callaghan, Emlyn Hughes and Stevie Heighway. BBC show, Liverpool FC: The thirty year wait, was narrated by Jason.
Kim Cattrall
The Sex and the City actress Kim Cattrall was born in Liverpool before emigrating to Canada three months later but has remained a life-long Red. She has been spotted at Anfield on occasions.
Gary Barlow
In 2018, Gary Barlow said he can’t wait to perform at Anfield ahead of the Take That concert, joking: “we’ll have won the league by then!” He has been pictured attending home fixtures before.
Caroline Wozniacki
Life-long Liverpool fan and former tennis professional, Caroline Wozniacki has spoke about her love for the club many times over the years. She told Sky Sports: “I was so thrilled when they won the title.”
Craig Charles
Red Dwarf and Robot Wars star Craig Charles grew up in Liverpool and is a vocal supporter of the club. During the reds five-match Premier League winless run, he criticised ‘ungrateful’ Reds supporters who wanted Jurgen Klopp sacked.
Elvis Costello
Musician Elvis Costello’s mum is from Liverpool and he has supported LFC ever since he saw the Reds beat Leeds 5-0 on September 23 1962.
Lana Del Rey
The singer told LiverpoolFC.com: “The people in Liverpool are so friendly and the stadium’s really impressive.
“I’ve not had the chance to attend a game before but I’ve watched Liverpool on TV before. It’s great to actually come to Anfield.” Lana will play a concert at Anfield later this year.
Millie Bobby Brown
Millie Bobby Brown is a Liverpool fan. She has been vocal about her support for the team in multiple interviews. The Stranger Things star told the club’s official website about how she fell in love with the team, she said: “My family have been big supporters and fans since I was very young.”
