  • Alan Sepinwall’s review of “Hit Me Baby” included these comments about Helen McCrory’s characterization of Amanda Puryer:

“I should admit to continuing to enjoy one especially-stylized performance, as Helen McCrory (aka Mrs. Damian Lewis) returned as the rebel smoker, cleavage barer and all-around badass insurance investigator. Working in her native accent while her husband gets to show off his non-regional American diction, McCrory continues to be a blast to watch, and a nice counterpoint to Ted.”

  • This viewer’s comments about The Escapist with Damian Lewis include:

“Frank Perry is played by none other than Brian Cox…His acting was superb in this film. The role of a beat up old convict with nothing to lose was masterfully portrayed by Cox. The thing that got me the most was how writer-director Rupert Wyatt choose to tell the story. His unique way of molding and splicing up the segments of the film made it a treat to watch. As he weaves you in and out of the preparations for the escape and up to during the escape, you can’t help but be glued to the screen as you (the audience) try to piece the puzzle together. Don’t worry it’s not confusing at all as the film jumps around because it’s all in sequence. The way the director would hurdle from one scene to the next at the perfect time for cliff hangers really kept the suspense and momentum of the film going.”

  • There is an unconfirmed report that Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory took time out to visit the beautiful Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado earlier this month.
