Some of the biggest names in Hollywood are taking a break from shooting their next big blockbuster film to tee-off with their celebrity pals—and all for great causes. The 11th Annual Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament will be broadcast on Saturday, July 7th, 2012 on the Golf Channel from 4 P.M. – 6 P.M. EST. Throughout the tournament sports personality Terry Gannon will be giving commentary, and television host Mary Hart will share celebrity interviews and insights.

The annual tournament, co-hosted by Oscar-winners Michael Douglas and Morgan Freeman, features three teams of celebrity golfers with captains Mr. Douglas, Mr. Freeman and celebrities like Kyle Maclachlan, Brian Baumgartner, Benjamin Bratt, Alice Cooper, Tony Dovolani, Dennis Haysbert, Damian Lewis, Tico Torres, Jack Wagner and Mark Wahlberg. Their celebrity coaches include Hank Haney, Jim McLean and Annika Sorenstam.

The MD&F Tournament was played at the One & Only Ocean Club Golf Course at the Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas earlier this year. The telecast takes viewers inside the charity weekend and includes coverage of the 9-hole competition, tips from celebrity coaches, and the JC Penney putting challenge, as well as footage from exciting weekend events including a live auction hosted by award-winning actress Sharon Stone.

“We had a great weekend of golf and a lot of fun for two great causes. I’m grateful to the golfers, coaches, sponsors and everyone who helped make the tournament a success,” said Michael Douglas. “I’m proud that we’ve raised over $10 million dollars since the tournament’s inception.”

The stars each had a personal connection to their charities of choice, including Morgan Freeman who played on behalf of Plan!t Now, the disaster preparedness non-profit organization. Proceeds from the televised golf tournament equally benefited P!N and the Motion Picture & Television Fund, the leading Hollywood charity providing health, financial and social services to the entertainment community.
