Quentin Tarantino has teamed with journalist/author Jay Glennie and publisher Insight Editions for making-of books on all ten of his films.

The first installment, The Making of Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, will be published on November 11.

The 400-page coffee table book features an introduction by Tarantino, who provided hundreds of behind-the-scenes photos, production memos, concept art, and costume and production design sketches, along with exclusive reproductions of letters, studio documents, and film ephemera.

It includes new interviews with key cast and crew members, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Mikey Madison, Margaret Qualley, Austin Butler, Lena Dunham, Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch, Damian Lewis, Maya Hawke, and Sydney Sweeney.

The result is an account of the monumental effort undertaken to produce the 2009 film and is the official record of how it was achieved, from inception to the world premiere and on to ten Academy Award nominations, resulting in two Oscars.

Set in 1969 Los Angeles, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood follows a former Western star and his longtime stunt double as they struggle to find success in a Hollywood that they don’t recognize anymore.

The next making-of books will cover Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchanged, due out in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
