  • Congratulations to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory on their second wedding anniversary on July 4th! ➡

  • Helen McCrory is scheduled to attend the July 7th London premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (and, who knows, she may bring her husband Damian Lewis with her!) The premiere will start at 6pm BST on July 7th and there will be a live webcast starting at approximately 5pm BST.

There’s no information at this time indicating whether Helen (and Damian) plan to attend the filim’s New York City premiere on July 9th.

This review in the Mail Online says:

What lifts these Harry Potter films, and this one in particular, is the way producer David Heyman and his team have cast top notch British actors. We get double trouble from Helen McCrory and Helena Bonham Carter as wicked siblings Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange, Maggie Smith as Minerva McGonagall, Alan Rickman as Serverus Snape, and Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid. They are
the best of our great British stock.

  • The June 2009 issue of Movie Scope Magazine features an extensive interview with Helen McCrory. A portion of the article is currently available online that includes these comments about Helen:

Helen McCrory is, without doubt, one of Britain’s most powerful acting talents. Her acting range seems boundless. Helen has a very rare combination of personal qualities that she brings to her acting—she is confident and assertive but also has a huge amount of compassion, which allows her to lace her characters with a sense of vulnerability as well as strength.

Helen is also cited as an example of Britain’s phenomenal acting talent in this interview with director Robin Sheppard.
