Damian has been all over the streets of New York this week, either with his guitar busking or with his girlfriend Alison Mosshart. But now it’s down to business as he reprises his role as Bobby Axelrod for season 7 of Billions. Damian is seen here with Billions showrunners David Levien and Brian Koppelman at the restaurant Rao’s in East Harlem, with what looks like script pages in hand for episode filming 😉 Damian is definitely sporting that “Axey” hair. Damian and Alison were spotted stepping out in New York City again today, Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Both were seen smiling and laughing as Damian toted his guitar bag over his shoulder throughout the streets of the Big Apple. Seems apparent Damian is back in New York for music related purposes, as he busked outside Music Inn in the West Village and teased the public that something was landing this week! They’re ‘Down on the Bowery’ again, literally! Damian and Alison were all smiles as they took a stroll together on Bowery Street in New York City on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Alison finally made it to the Big Apple after reporting on Instagram of being stranded at a Maryland truck stop due to an airline fiasco. Damian and Alison Mosshart attended the Bowie X Mother Collaboration launch party at the private members’ club Caviar Kaspia in London on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. He even coordinated his outfit by wearing a black Bowie T-shirt that his children recently gifted him. Alison performed a Bowie set on stage at the event while “LJ” Jack Lawrence played acoustic guitar. Other attendees included Damon Bryant, Lady Mary Charteris, Josephine de La Baume, Charlie Barker, Juliet Angus, Robbie Furze, Greta Bellamacina, Robert Montgomery, Bella Freud and Jack Lawrence of The Dead Weather. Mother Denim debuted its David Bowie themed clothing collection earlier this week, featuring 70s style cuts and graphic designs inspired by the late star. Following Sony’s “A Spy Among Friends” premiere and red carpet in New York, the cast and crew of “A Spy Among Friends” took to the stage to discuss the process of differentiating the series from the 2014 nonfiction book by author Ben Macintyre about one of Britain’s most notorious espionage scandals. Alexander Cary, showrunner and creator of the Sony Pictures Television series for MGM+, was joined by star Damian Lewis, director Nick Murphy and producer Chrissy Skinns.
Moderated by Variety’s TV business writer Jennifer Maas, the conversation began with Lewis’ reflection on why the series was the right opportunity to make his debut as an executive producer. Best known for his starring roles in Showtime’s “Billions” and “Homeland” and the 2001 HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers,” the Emmy winner tried his hand at a behind-the-screen job on the series, working with fellow executive producers Cary, Murphy, Macintyre, Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen and Patrick Spence.

After selling out his first two London shows, Damian Lewis returned to the stage for another music gig at Hoxton Hall on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hoxton area of Shoreditch, London Borough of Hackney, with supporting act Amelie Watson. Those spotted in the audience were our very own Damianista of Fan Fun team, long time fans and Fan Fun followers Darlene Billows, Hellie Phillips and Tsveti, as well as Marcella Martinelli (stylist), Steve Abbott (Manager) and Debbi Clark who is the Founder and CEO of HVH Arts Foundation – a charity close to former Patron Helen McCrory’s heart. Damian did share with the audience that his song “Down on the Bowery” was written in New York. Always the gracious one, Damian did a meet and greet with many guests and fans after the show by signing autographs, posing for pictures and giving hugs. Thank you, Damian!

Damian attended MGM+’s A Spy Among Friends New York Premiere at Crosby Street Hotel on Monday, February 27, 2023 in New York City. Damian is pictured here with co-star Stephen Kunken (Billions) who played James Jesus Angleton in the spy series. Other attendees at the premiere included Neil Burger, Claire Danes (Homeland), Alexander Cary, Nick Murphy, Michael Wright, Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures Television, Andrew Ross Sorkin (Billions co-creator), Alessandro Nivola, Sienna Miller and Jill Hennessy, as well as Billions castmates Danny Strong, Jack Gilpin, Asia Kate Dillon, Daniel K. Isaac, Dhruv Maheshwari, Kelly AuCoin and David Costabile.

Damian guest appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for S8, E81 on Monday, February 27, 2023 to promote the upcoming US release of his mini-series A Spy Among Friends available to stream on MGM+ beginning March 12. But Damian also made a HUGE announcement at the end of the segment. Let’s start at the beginning. Damian made his entrance as the band played Elvis “Suspicious Minds,” which is no coincidence if you know our Ginger! He waved and blew air kisses to the audience, took a bow before being seated and wore his lucky purple socks. When discussing A Spy Among Friends Damian asked, “Who doesn’t love a spy thriller?” Damian further explained he finds the total duplicity and ability to conceal simply fascinating, and a masterful skill. He spoke of working with the immaculate Guy Pearce who plays spy Kim Philby and how Philby is UK’s most infamous spy who betrayed his country to the Russians for 30 years.
Specifically, Damian explains how Nicholas Elliott (played by him) meets Philby in Beirut for an interrogation (and hopefully a confession) over four days. After Elliott’s superiors review the transcripts of the taped recordings of their meeting, they notice three minutes is missing when Elliott and Philby walk out on the balcony and no one knows what they really spoke about. All they do know is the next day, Philby escapes to Russia. Colbert played a clip of the scene between MI5 Agent Lily Thomas and Elliott upon Elliott’s return from Beirut. Damian jokingly claimed, “I only watch things I’m in.” Colbert asked Damian if he would make a good spy. Damian answered no and Colbert agreed he doesn’t think Damian would be a good spy because “a spy should be boring and you’re not, you’re too interesting.” Damian rubbed his heart in admiration and then Colbert quipped, “and a spy wouldn’t rub their own nipple in public.”
