Damian Lewis Takes a Stroll with Alison Mosshart in New York

An Englishman in New York

by Damianista | damian-lewis.com | February 22, 2023

Damian and Alison took a rainy stroll in Washington Square Park in New York City on February 22, 2023.  We are thrilled to see Damian back in the Big Apple and can’t help wonder if this trip is all about spending time with Alison or whether Damian has business while in town. Remember, he was spotted filming on the set of Billions in London back in November and our fingers are crossed for him to appear in Season 7 more than once! In addition, Damian’s new mini-series A Spy Among Friends is coming to MGM+ on March 12 in the US so he could be in town to promote the series. And of course, he could also be in town to promote his upcoming solo album due out later this June. And we think they went ice skating! View more photos in our Gallery here.

But seeing Damian carry an umbrella, the first thing that comes to mind is…

Damian Lewis on Being Devoted, Loyal and Blinkered in His Latest Role

A Beautiful and Sort of Tragic, Sad Relationship

by Rachael Davies | Herald Scotland | December 6, 2022

A Spy Among Friends’ Damian Lewis and Anna Maxwell Martin tell Rachael Davis about the ITVX series’ true story of espionage and betrayal.

It’s 1963: the height of the Cold War. International politics is fueled by secrecy and duplicity, as psychological warfare, propaganda and espionage – not to mention the latent threat of nuclear attack – keeps world leaders looking over their shoulders and into the shadows.

In England, Nicholas Elliott, played by Damian Lewis, is working for MI6 as an intelligence officer. He has a very close, long-standing friendship with Kim Philby, his colleague in intelligence.

A Spy Among Friends: Kim Philby’s Greatest Betrayal?

A Ruthless MI6 Traitor Ruined the Life of His Closest Colleague

by Ben Macintyre | The Times | December 5, 2022

One winter morning a decade ago, I took a walk on Hampstead Heath with my friend David Cornwell, better known as the novelist John le Carré. I was suffering from what David called “post publicatio tristis”, the strange melancholy that descends after you have published a book and wonder if you will ever write another.

“What is the best unwritten story of the Cold War?” I asked him, blatantly fishing for inspiration.

Without hesitation he replied: “The relationship between Kim Philby and Nicholas Elliott.” I knew of Philby, of course, the notorious KGB spy, but I had never heard of Elliott.<

Damian Lewis to Star in Director Euros Lyn‘s ‘The Radleys’

Abstainer Vampires

by Naman Ramachandran | Variety | October 21, 2022

Emmy and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis (“A Spy Among Friends,” “Billions”) will star in BAFTA-winning “Heartstopper” director Euros Lyn’s supernatural black comedy film “The Radleys.” Collider states, “Lyn will serve as the film’s director. The production marks a reunion between the filmmaker and his leading man as both Lyn and Lewis previously teamed up back in 2020 for the sports drama, Dream Horse.”

“The Radleys” is based on Matt Haig’s popular novel which follows the Radleys, a seemingly ordinary family who hold a dark secret – they are vampires. They are abstainers, vampires who choose not to drink blood despite their natural cravings, but the truth is revealed one day.

The film is based on a script developed by British Comedy Award winner Jo Brand (“Getting on”) and is written by Talitha Stevenson (“Late in Summer”). It will start shooting in the U.K. in May 2023. (UPDATE: Damian revealed shooting begins Monday, June 5, 2023).

by Lily Ford | Evening Standard | July 21, 2022

An Army officer has raised thousands of pounds for charity by cycling 2,100 kilometres from London to Madrid in memory of his “inspiring” brother and his aunt, actress Helen McCrory. Tom Yaxley, 32, is the brother of Hugo Yaxley and nephew of Damian, as well as McCrory, who died from cancer in April 2021 aged 52.

Mr. Yaxley has embarked on the cycle across Europe for Ride4Hugo, a series of fundraising events organised by friends and family which have earned more than £115,000 for four charities. Through tough gruelling climbs, injury, pain, heat, traffic and SHEEP! Nothing stopped him.
