She met her husband, the actor Damian Lewis, on the set of Five Gold Rings at London’s Almeida in 2003. Since then, life has been on fast-forward. “People talk about settling down; there’s nothing settling down about it, love. We’ve moved country three times, we’ve sold two houses, bought a house, done about seven films, a series, four plays, had two kids. I’d just like the dust to settle.”

New interview, Soccer Aid broadcast times, ‘Will’ update

  • The Times Online has a nice little interview with Damian Lewis:

I used to be a bit of a party animal. These days I can’t go out relentlessly and be a father as well. I have two children, aged 3 and 2, so instead I tend to do silly dad things such as going on 150-mile bike rides with my friends just to prove that we can do it. We did a ride in the Cambrian Mountains and Brecon Beacons over three days at Easter out of a sense of adventure, but we’ve all been in physiotherapy ever since.

  • Soccer Aid 2010 will broadcast on ITV1 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Soccer Aid: Extra Time – with highlights, analysis and player reaction – will broadcast on ITV4 from 10:00pm to 11:00pm following the match. Click here for more program details.

  • Gallery Update: Damian Lewis attended the Louis Vuitton Bond Street Maison Launch Afterparty in London on Tuesday. Click here at the gallery for pictures.

  • Thanks to June for her report on the Josephine Hart Poetry Hour on May 17th. She says, “The most striking thing for me was the contrast between Damian and Jeremy
Irons, Damian beautifully dressed in a plum coloured jersey (gorgeous with his
hair) over a white shirt and light grey trousers, and totally exqisite plain
black shoes – how can one rapsodise over a pair of men’s shoes? – Irons
flamboyant in fancy leather jacket and huge laced up boots.” Click here at the Yahoo! Group for the post.

  • Wow, more interesting sign-ups for Soccer Aid 2010: actors Mike Myers, Woody Harrelson and Simon Baker have joined the Rest of the World squad which will take on the England team (that includes Damian). theatre a lot, they are not planning to live in the States (not for now
anyway), children keeping them busy, how much she admires Damian as an actor

  • More on Damian’s role in Band of Brothers by Phil Bilbrough in Advertising.Scoop.co.nz :

One of the central characters (Band of Brothers is about Easy Company, American Paratroopers in WWII Europe) is Major Richard D. Winters, played by Damian Lewis. He is a handsome, heroic, quietly spoken, introspective, respected leader of men. …

So Major Richard D. Winters is a hero’s hero. And Damian Lewis is the world’s best actor. Why? Because Maj. Winter (so far) is a man without ANY flaws. His men love him – follow him into some very sticky situations and occasionally die. Yet Damian Lewis can make this perfectly perfect guy almost compelling even when his character isn’t running into battle, which is about 40% of the mini series.
