A Shoutout to Liverpool

by Damianista | damian-lewis.com | May 31, 2019

Damian’s beloved Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur in the 2019 UEFA Champions League final  at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain on Saturday, June 1. The two English Premier League heavyweights met two times in this year’s Premier League with Liverpool winning 2-1 both times. Five-time winners Liverpool will be aiming to get their sixth title whereas Hotspurs will be playing to win their first!

Relying on Damian’s earlier tweet we assume he will be in the stadium tomorrow cheering for his Red Men!

And he did a shout out today playing his teeth for all Liverpool Fans out there. You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Is there anything this guy can’t do? 🙂

Go and get it, Red Men, for Damian, for me and for all Liverpool fans!

Damian Attends UEFA Champions League Final – May 26, 2018

This Billions Star is a Well-Known Red

No surprise, as we reported yesterday, that Damian would attend the 2018 UEFA Champions League final today, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine in support of his favorite football team, Liverpool, in the LFC vs. Real Madrid match. Damian posted this video to Twitter as he boarded the plane headed to Kyiv.

Damian has been a longtime fan of LFC since childhood – he took part in the coverage at Anfield for the first leg of Liverpool’s Champions League tie with Manchester City on April 4 and last year he celebrated his 46th birthday at Anfield for Liverpool’s visit of Tottenham.

An avid Reds supporter, Damian (pictured with Clive Owen above) made the epic journey to Kyiv in the hope of being witness to a historic battle to take the UEFA Champions League trophy for the sixth time. But it wasn’t meant to be. Although his Redmen lost to Real Madrid 3-1 and no doubt he was gutted, Damian showed resilience in defeat by offering sportsmanship for his team and fans abroad. See fan pics on the next page and follow the gallery link.

Liverpool face Real Madrid in the 2018 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, May 26 at NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine as the club football season draws to a close. The two European heavyweights last met in UEFA’s showpiece event in 1981, at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Five-time winners Liverpool will be aiming to repeat that triumph! Here is a little MOM “We’ve got Salah” Reds chant by Damian himself as he heads to the title match:

Well, he may call himself a muppet but Damian plays more like a professional baller in Game for Grenfell!

Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer, two former football stars, put together Game4Grenfell, a football match between two amazing teams of football stars and non-football stars at Queen Park Rangers’ (QPR) Loftus Road Stadium “to raise funds and inspire hope for those affected” by the Grenfell Tower fire that caused at least 80 deaths and more than 70 injuries back in June.

And while we are all on the same side at Game4Grenfell; on the side of the victims, their families, and the larger Lancaster West Estatecommunity, when asked by Game4Grenfell the following question, I have only one answer:

Damian Lewis’s Goal for Grenfell Tower Charity Football Match? Don’t Get Nutmegged! – Sept 1, 2017

Damian Lewis’s goal for Grenfell Tower charity football match? Don’t get nutmegged!

By David Churchill – Evening Standard – September 1, 2017

Damian has one aim when he takes to the pitch for tomorrow’s Grenfell Tower charity football match — to avoid the kind of humiliation he suffered at the feet of one of the world’s greatest players.

Zinedine Zidane nutmegged the former Homeland star in front of 70,000 people at Old Trafford after Lewis clattered into him with a poor tackle during a 2010 Soccer Aid match.

This time Lewis, who grew up near Grenfell Tower, will be playing alongside stars including Sir Mo Farah, Olly Murs, Tinie Tempah and Alan Shearer at Loftus Road, home of Queens Park Rangers. Funds raised will go through London Community Foundation to the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund before being distributed to survivors, and towards community projects.

Damian Celebrates 46th Birthday at Anfield for Liverpool’s Visit of Tottenham

Hollywood star Damian Lewis returned to his Homeland on Saturday as he visited his beloved Anfield for Liverpool’s game against Tottenham.

The Billions star is a well-known Red, and the London-born actor was in attendance as Jurgen Klopp’s Reds prepared to entertain Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs .

However, after Will Ferrell’s appearance coincided with a 3-2 defeat to Swansea last month and the end of a 12-month unbeaten home streak, fans will be hoping Lewis’ visit proves rather more fruitful for Klopp’s men.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the red-haired Lewis holds an affinity for one of the most famous gingers in the Reds’ history, ‘Supersub’ himself, David Fairclough.

MOVIE star Damian Lewis has revealed how he persuaded Kenny Dalglish to make his big-screen debut.

The Scotland legend was going to kick the offer of a movie role into touch until he was urged to get on board by the Band Of Brothers star.

Liverpool boss Kenny had been invited to play a crucial role in Will, a film about an 11-year-old boy trekking from Kent to Istanbul for the 2005 Champions League Final between the Reds and AC Milan.

Guardian Interview: Shooting Star – March 10, 2002

Shooting star

by Jay Rayner | The Guardian |

Watching Damian Lewis leading the men of Easy Company to victory in Spielberg’s WWII epic Band of Brothers, you’d never guess he went to Eton and attended drama school with Ewan MacGregor. Now, though, he is returning to more familiar territory as the iconic Soames in The Forsyte Saga.

The middle-aged Italian waitress clearly does not recognise the actor she is shouting at or, if she does, she has had enough experience at being a sour-faced waitress not to show it. This is the second time she has asked Damian Lewis to choose what he wants for lunch and it is the second time he has asked for a few more minutes. ‘Look,’ she says, with a fearsome shrug, arms spread wide. ‘We are busy. You don’t order now, then the kitchen, it become busy. You wait too long for your food. You get cross.’ There is a convincing logic here: the small, smokey cafe in London’s St James’s is indeed already crammed with people.
