Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood has earned 10 Oscar nominations! The announcement, on January 13, includes Best Picture, Directing, Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Cinematography, Costume Design, Production Design, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Writing (original screenplay).  The 92nd Academy Awards will air live on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 8:00 Eastern/5:00 Pacific on ABC.

Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood opened July 26 in the U.S. where it performed solidly at the box office. As of October 27, it had earned $141 million in North America, placing it at #16 overall for 2019. It opened internationally on August 8, 2019 where it’s picked up another $231 million. The combined total of $372 million, as of January 13, places it at #19 overall for the year.

The story is about the final years of the Hollywood Golden Age during Los Angeles in 1969 when a retired TV star and his stunt double seek to gain fame and success in the film industry.

The movie stars Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Lena Dunham, Damian Lewis, Emile Hirsch, and Dakota Fanning. The director of the movie is Quentin Tarantino. This movie was also a little controversial. Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt’s great performances can give the movie a major push for the 2020 awards.

The 2019 new Academy Award membership names have been released and guess who’s on the list? Both Damian and Helen have been invited to become a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This year’s newest 842 member invitees are from 59 different countries and 10 different branches, including, casting directors, costume designers, directors, documentary, executives, make-up artists and stylists, marketing and public relations, producers, production design, writers, and of course actors.

Damian and Helen join the likes of other new member invitees like, Sterling K. Brown, Lady Gaga, Claire Foy, Tom Holland, Tracy Letts, Elizabeth Moss, Amanda Peet, Kevin Pollak, Alexander Skarsgard, and more.
