New BBC project! + HIGNFY, again!

  • New Project Update: Damian’s personal assistant, Michael, has updated us on Damian’s new project: “He has been cast in a TV film which is produced by the BBC titled “Stolen” he goes to Manchester in the next few weeks to begin filming, he will be there for approximately a month. At the moment there is no release date for the film on the BBC but it will be early in the New Year. The film is writer by Stephen Butchard and directed by Justin Chadwick who directed “The Other Boleyn Girl” as a film and various TV series such as “Spooks”, “Life Force”, “Red Cap” and “Bleak House”.”

    According to the BBC press release, “it’s a story of modern child slavery” that deals with the “subject matter of human trafficking in Britain today, where children are brought here for a better life but end up working illegally outside the system.” The 90-minute film is being made by RSJ Productions and will broadcast in 2011 in the 9:00pm slot.   • Damian Lewis will again appear as guest host in a new episode of the quiz show Have I Got News For You on Thurday, November 18 at 9:00pm on BBC1.   • Today’s edition of the Times Online provides information about AngloMockba, the British/Russian artistic and cultural festival that featured guest appearances by Martha Fiennes and Steven Frears along with screenings of their films “Chromophobia” starring Damian Lewis and “The Queen” strarring Helen McCrory.

    The article also reveals that the long-awaited production of Boogie Woogie starring Damian Lewis has been delayed due to lack of funding.

  • Damian Lewis has made a second appearance as the guest host on Have I Got News For You, the popular British political satire. Episode 37.2 was originally broadcast on BBC One on May 1, 2009 and a longer version (called Have I Got a Bit More News For You) aired on BBC Two on May 2nd. Viewers located in the UK can watch the program on the BBC site that also features the text of an interview with Damian about the program.

    The menacing Rizza (Damian Lewis)…rules the prison like a violent version of Howdy Doody…Lewis chilled me to the … bone. Rizza isn’t a yeller; he carries this quiet grim evil in him. With the clean, bright-red, close cut part hair, he looks like a clean-cut fella, and you wonder why everyone is supposed to be afraid of him. He quickly quells that, merely with a gesture or a quiet shushing. You realize why men would cut off their own finger without screaming just to avoid his temper.
