Damian Lewis Chats with Gold Derby About Billions Season 2 – May 14, 2017

Damian Lewis Chats with Gold Derby About Billions Season 2

Zach LawsChris Beachum – May 15, 2017

“We knew that the second season was going to show consequences of their actions,” reveals Damian Lewis during our recent webcam chat (watch the exclusive video above) about the sophomore year of his show “Billions.” The Emmy winner stars in this Showtime series as Bobby Axelrod, a hedge-fund king whose dirty dealings catch the attention of U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti). The first season, Lewis believes, “essentially was watching these men, these alpha males, in their natural habitats,” but, “perhaps without too much cost.” This time around, however, “there would be moral repercussions.”

One of the things that makes the show so exciting, Lewis divulges, is that, “we can dovetail our fiction in and out of what’s going on around us.” He relates this to the recent election of billionaire Donald Trump, who, “brings into sharp focus the way in which the mega-rich live.” The London native adds, “what’s extraordinary about your current President is it seems as though he’s continuing to try to live his life while running the free world as he lived it before, but he’s finding I think that that’s quite difficult.”

‘Billions’ Cast And Their Athlete Comparisons – May 8, 2017

‘Billions’ Cast And Their Athlete Comparisons

by Jeff Eisenband – The Post Game – May 8, 2017

“Billions” closed its second season this past Sunday, with a finale that — spoiler — left Chuck Rhoades Jr. feeling like a champion and Bobby Axelrod feeling unloved and less powerful. Season 3  of the Showtime series should feature Axelrod fighting his case while Rhoades attempts to run for governor of New York.

Although the season is over, that does not mean the conversation about “Billions” content is. We can always compare the cast to professional athletes, as we did below.

If the article makes you dehydrated, try a little Ice Juice.

Bobby Axelrod: LeBron James

Axe is The Chosen One. He’s a hedge fund manager from a humble background who is ruthless in the business world. He takes every competitive advantage possible to be the best at what he does. James maneuvered to formulate the Big Three in Miami and then shifted the NBA balance of power to Cleveland, using the media to push his agenda (and desire to trade for Kevin Love). Both Axe and LeBron will have legacies tainted by their questionable tactics, but both insist they operated within the fair boundaries of their respective fields.

Damian Lewis talks Billions, The Goat Play and Obama on Andrew Marr Show

Damian Lewis excels at playing the most Alpha of males.

From Henry the Eighth in “Wolf Hall” to Brodie in “Homeland”, Lewis has often shown masculinity at its most bruising.

His return to the London stage, however, will leave quite a few of his fans with their jaws on the floor.

In Edward Albee’s absurdist play, “The Goat”, Lewis plays an architect who falls in love with a goat.

Andrew Marr spoke to him about the play.
