Damian Attends UEFA Champions League Final – May 26, 2018

This Billions Star is a Well-Known Red

No surprise, as we reported yesterday, that Damian would attend the 2018 UEFA Champions League final today, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine in support of his favorite football team, Liverpool, in the LFC vs. Real Madrid match. Damian posted this video to Twitter as he boarded the plane headed to Kyiv.

Damian has been a longtime fan of LFC since childhood – he took part in the coverage at Anfield for the first leg of Liverpool’s Champions League tie with Manchester City on April 4 and last year he celebrated his 46th birthday at Anfield for Liverpool’s visit of Tottenham.

An avid Reds supporter, Damian (pictured with Clive Owen above) made the epic journey to Kyiv in the hope of being witness to a historic battle to take the UEFA Champions League trophy for the sixth time. But it wasn’t meant to be. Although his Redmen lost to Real Madrid 3-1 and no doubt he was gutted, Damian showed resilience in defeat by offering sportsmanship for his team and fans abroad. See fan pics on the next page and follow the gallery link.

Liverpool face Real Madrid in the 2018 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, May 26 at NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine as the club football season draws to a close. The two European heavyweights last met in UEFA’s showpiece event in 1981, at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Five-time winners Liverpool will be aiming to repeat that triumph! Here is a little MOM “We’ve got Salah” Reds chant by Damian himself as he heads to the title match:

Deep State’s Mark Strong on Playing Footie with Damian Lewis – May 10, 2018

Longtime Passions for Football

by Benji Wilson | Radio Times | May 10, 2018

When Radio Times asked Mark Strong if he is best on the pitch, he replied:

The guy that runs the games said to me a few weeks ago that I was one of the fittest on the pitch. I’m not sure that’s true but I’m fairly useful. Damian Lewis also plays in our game, he’s very good. In fact, he and I played in the Legends match, which I think was the penultimate game at Upton Park. I scored and beat [ex-Arsenal goalkeeper] Jens Lehmann, but it was disallowed because it came off my arm.

Video: Damian Attends Liverpool vs Manchester City UEFA Champions League Match – April 4, 2018

Hanging Out With Soccer Giants

by Gingersnap | damian-lewis.com | April 4, 2018

Damian and son were a part of the coverage at Anfield for the first leg of Liverpool’s Champions League tie with Manchester City on April 4th.

They were pitchside ahead of the game to speak with the talent lineup that includes Gary Lineker, Steven Gerrard, and Frank Lampard. And Liverpool wins 3-0!

After a magical Liverpool night that lived up to every effusive word ever uttered about Anfield, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are now going to have live up to all the hype about them to turn this tie around. The Catalan will maybe have to produce his greatest feat of management yet, or something at least as wondrous as Jurgen Klopp conjured here for this coruscating 3-0 victory that itself will match anything this great old ground has seen in Europe. That’s the scale of the task for City in the second leg, that’s how magnificent Liverpool were.

It was amazing to think that the utterly thrashed visitors could be crowned the most commanding ever English champions as soon as Saturday, because it’s been a long time since they have been made to look this callow, this out of ideas, this poor. City’s night started with their bus getting smashed up, and just got worse. The only blemish for Liverpool is the second-half injury to the dominant Mohamed Salah, although Klopp said afterwards the player said he was “fine”. The real key, though, was that Liverpool successfully set a pace that City couldn’t match even when Klopp’s team began to naturally subside.

Queens Park Rangers hosted the celebrity showdown at the Loftus Road stadium, situated just a mile away from the site of the disaster.
